the artist is hiding (2014-15)
Informed by paintings she has seen, Henry paints new abstract paintings, each atop the previous one, eradicating the past while commenting on the now. She is photographed in front of each new piece holding a mask that relates to the painting. The masks are painted, collaged, papier-mâchéd and three-dimensional. The only clue to identity is the hand of the artist.
