me as her (2014)

In her long-standing practice of remaining hidden/masked within her work, Henry reimagines herself behind photographic masks gleaned from the internet of significant and accomplished women who are no longer alive. She places herself with these photo-masks in locations in her Willamsburg neighborhood. Away from the glare of fame, and shot in black and white with natural light each photograph is a wry comment on how little is known about the true self and those we admire.
